—Graham C. L. Davey, Ph.D explained why people feel uncomfortable to speak out their mental problems more detailed in his professional article Mental Health & Stigma–Mental health symptoms are still viewed as threatening and uncomfortable (2013) on Psychology Today, it said:

“There are still attitudes within most societies that view symptoms of psychopathology as threatening and uncomfortable, and these attitudes frequently foster stigma and discrimination towards people with mental health problems. Such reactions are common when people are brave enough to admit they have a mental health problem, and they can often lead on to various forms of exclusion or discrimination – either within social circles or within the workplace.”mentalhealth_custom-1b392282561748f44386d6f80270b32f4f5179ce-s900-c85

Overall, under the social pressure, people tend to be ashamed, or simply uncomfortable to talk to people, or even professional psychologists, about their mental problems.  People tend to pretend that they are fine.  Actually, the tendency of avoiding talking about mental health worsen many people’s mental health situation.  They need a chance to release themselves from suffering from mental problems alone.
